Our Story
About Us
Affordable, quality tutoring for every student — from elementary school to GED.
Our History
Founded with Purpose
Established in 2024, Sophie Academy was created to close the gap left by budget cuts that eliminated free tutoring programs in many schools. Our founder, Fatuma Abdulkadir, recognized that many students were about to lose access to academic support due to the extremely high prices charged by private tutoring agencies.
She set out to build something different — a tutoring service that puts students first, keeps prices fair, and never compromises on quality.
"Every student deserves access to quality academic support — not just those who can afford it."
— Fatuma Abdulkadir, Founder
What Drives Us
Mission & Approach
Our Mission
To provide affordable, quality tutoring that fosters growth, creativity, and innovation. We are committed to helping every student achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Virtual Whiteboards
All sessions are conducted using interactive virtual whiteboards, allowing for real-time collaborative learning. Whiteboards stay accessible anytime so students can review their work.
Flexible Scheduling
Whether you need to catch up or get ahead, our private sessions offer focused support with scheduling that works around your life — all from the comfort of your home.
Our Approach
We believe learning should be engaging, interactive, and fun. Every course is hands-on and tailored to the individual needs and learning style of each student.
Affordable Tutoring Program
Making Quality Education Accessible for Every Child
At Sophie Academy, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their family's income. That's why we created the Affordable Tutoring Program (ATP).
This initiative offers 40% off all private tutoring services for low-income families. Whether your child needs help in math, reading, science, or test prep, our expert tutors are here to support them using engaging virtual tools and a personalized approach tailored to each student's learning style.
